What is Taaruf?

"Taaruf" is an arabic word which literally means, getting to know each other.

With the raza and Dua Mubarak of Aqamoula T.U.S., ITNC has developed the concept of Taaruf, an event by which youngsters of marriageable age can get to know one another. TNCs have been appointed around the world to facilitate this and effectively do the work of matchmaking. They use a number of methods, both traditional and contemporary to achieve this and have been very successful because of the Barakat endowed by the Raza & Dua Mubarak of Aqa Maula T.U.S.

MATCHMAKING is done in various ways in the TNC:

The one to one method- this is the traditional way in which matchmaking has been done in the past, but with a difference! In this method, a TNC counselor meets and converses with the candidate/Shaadi Laiq Farzand and gets to know him/her better. Farzando have a chance to express the traits and qualities that they desire in their spouse. A registration form is filled out with inputs from the candidate so that the counselor may have a written record for matchmaking purposes. This form not only contains the particulars of the Farzand but also a record of the views expressed by him/her. Once the counselor is well-acquainted with the Farzand, she/he can begin the all important process of matchmaking. This is done by referring to existing bio-datas, consulting other counselors for suitable matches and also using Attaiseer ul Burhani, the international databank of Shaadi Laiq Farzando.

This system differs from contemporary methods in that each Farzand is allocated a dedicated counselor who will always liaise with the candidate and be their first point of contact. This counselor will accompany the candidate from registration until he/she finds a perfect match!

Preserving our Fatemi culture is of the utmost importance, in our community which is global and dynamic. To suit these times, ITNC has developed the concept of ‘Taaruf’. A Taaruf is a gathering of youngsters with a view to finding a life partner, within the bounds of an appropriate environment. A huge amount of effort goes into the preparations of any Taaruf be it small or large, local or international. The aim is to create the right ambience in which like minded youngsters can get to know a little bit about each other and meet up with a suitable life partner. Within the Taaruf there is a balance of structured activities which enable you to get to know prospective partners and free time when you can mingle with all present and spend more time with someone you wish to focus on.

ITNC Taaruf Camps are held on a regular basis twice a year; first during Ashara Mubaraka (wherever Aqa Moula T.U.S. holds the Majlis of Matam and Azaa) and the other in Surat during the annual Imtihaan of Al Jamea. These are open to anyone who wishes to attend whereas attendance in other Taaruf programmes is usually by invitation only. Often there are other such camps on other Miqaats such as the Milaad Mubarak of Aqa Maula’s or during other Safar Mubaraks and these are advertised as and when they are planned.

"Attaiseer ul Burhani" is a database of all eligible Farzando who have registered themselves with any TNC around the world. It is available for each Farzand to use in conjunction with their counselor.

It is a totally modern and exciting step towards efficient and global matchmaking within communities.
