The Taaruf Camp at this year's Ashara in Mombasa was a huge success for many reasons. Firstly over 595 candidates registered at the camp, more than at any camp in the past. The enthusiasm of the candidates to enroll and receive the benefit and barakat of the camp was very apparent.
During the 8 days of the camp the candidates had sessions with their counselors and were shown potential matches. They also got to participate in Shitabi Taaruf, a novel way for candidates to meet potential matches in a short period of time. At the end of the Shitabi Taaruf mutually interested candidates got to meet on a one-to-one basis in the privacy of specially made cubicles. By the end of the camp many couples were seriously considering each other. With Maula's Dua Inshallah all of these shall culminate in nisbat and nikah.
Another reason to celebrate was the successful implementation of Attaiseer ul Burhani 2.0. This software launched in October 2008 was used for the first time in a Taaruf Camp. Details of all candidates being registered in the camp were also entered into the software. This allowed counselors to make searches on behalf of their candidates for potential matches within the camp itself. For those candidates who were not successful in finding a life partner within the nine days of the camp, their data will remain within the data base for future matchmaking reference.
On the sidelines of the camp there were workshops for the over 200 counselors participating in the camp. The camp also served as a great opportunity for counselors from all over the world to meet and share notes.
The team of counselors and volunteers of Ashara 1430 Taaruf Camp eagerly look forward to the next Ashara Taaruf Camp.
If you are a candidate then don't forget to register!
Result: 4 engagements happened on the spot and 2 other pairs wish to talk to their parents prior to getting engaged.

Program Details: The Miqaat of Zikrad Dail Ajal Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA held in Surat is quite a significant one in our calendar as it is occasion for two important events: an ITNC camp which is soon followed by a Majlis of Rasme Saifee.
Arwa, with no intention of attending ITNC waited patiently while her friend filled out the necessary forms, got her picture taken, etc. Meanwhile, Quresh who had just registered for ITNC was walking around the tent waiting for his counselor to meet with him one-on-one.
That’s when he saw Arwa standing there and was immediately attracted to her. He asked a family friend and an ITNC counselor (but not his counselor) to introduce him to Arwa. Arwa, flattered, shocked and a little annoyed, reluctantly agreed to meet with Quresh in one of the many cubicles set up for this purpose. Ironically, a few days before this happened, Arwa was telling her friend that two qualities that are absolutely essential in a potential husband are iman and good teeth.
When she began talking to Quresh and asked him the usual questions about what he did, where he was from, etc. she was pleased to learn that he worked for Colgate-Palmolive… an oral care company! Arwa considered this a sign and agreed to meet him again the next day, and then the day after that, and the one after that, until it was finally 12mi tariq and Arwa and Quresh were waiting in the nisbat line outside Moula TUS nu utaro with Moula’s TUS dua and raza Mubarak, they got engaged, and have just celebrated their 3rd year of a happy, blissful marriage.

The Taaruf started at 5.45pm with the arrival of the participants at the Masjid us Saifee. They were registered, name tags given, snacks offered and introduced to their counselors. They met their counselors, followed by Namaaz, and after namaaz, Janab Amil saheb Abitameem Bhaisaheb, presided over the Daris held in the sahen. We had invited Janab Shk Aliakbarbhai Attar – Amilsaheb Anjuman e Fahkri - Mississauga, Ayaanul Jamat, Mashaikil kiram and other mumineen who had helped us in many ways – with transportation of the participants and accommodation, others with financial help for the Taaruf.

Dr. Abbas gave a welcome speech and thereafter the participants were invited to a Moghlai dinner in the basement of the Sehan. The taaruf participants were seated and served by the Committee members. Later the participants were invited to come upstairs and enjoy the fruit table as well as a chocolate fountain and tea / coffee. They all left at 11.00pm for the respective Uttara and residences.

They were served coffee, cakes, and given gift packages – which included their team number (for the ice breaker games), bottled water, pen, tic tacs and a booklet with the names of the opposite sex participants. They were given baggage tags to put on their bags and later the room numbers were added. The two buses and one 15 person van arrived sharply at 8.30am and the participants were boarded and taken to Pine Ridge Ski Club. We had 108 participants in total – 55 ladies and 53 gentlemen. The ages ranged from 18 to 29 for the ladies and 20 to 33 for the gentlemen.
Upon arrival at the Pine Ridge Ski Club, light snacks were served and the participants were invited to the ice breaker games – which had been designed by the games committee – coordinated by Aliasgarbhai Adamji. After lunch and Namaaz, the participants reconvened for Shitabi Taaruf. After the shitabi taaruf, the participants were asked to hand in their rose choice slips to their respective counselors. Once the choice slips were handed, they were given their room keys.
They then boarded the buses to Carriage Hills. We had already delivered their luggage to their rooms and had also put welcome packages in each room. These welcome packages had popcorn, teabags, hot chocolate, peanuts, cookies, almonds, potato crisps, Lindor chocolates, pop, juice, chocolate bars. Alifiyaben Abdulhusein and members of the reception committee had worked for many days prior to the Taaruf to make up these welcome packages.

During the night, IT Committee headed by Mulla Khozemabhai together with Huzaifabhai Patwa, Shabbirbhai Janoowala as well as Mariamben and Alifiyaben from the Admin committee , and Mariamben Bharmal from London, entered the data from the rose choice slips and printed out the cubicle time slots. >The Taaruf was felt by all – participants and committee members alike – to have been a great success. The credit goes to all the committee members who worked tirelessly and selflessly during the preparatory as well as the execution parts of the taaruf. We were very ably led by our Janab Amil Saheb, Abi Tameem Bhaisaheb and Yakutatusharaf bensab, without whose guidance and advice this Taaruf would not have been possible.
There is no doubt that all this was made possible, only with the Doa Mubarak of our beloved Aqa Maula ( TUS) and we humbly Araz Lakho Sajadaat us Shukur for all these nemato, and may Aqa Mola (TUS) Nazaraat and Doa be bestowed on us and we pray that we always be the very grateful recipients of Aqamola (TUS) Doa Mubarak ,as always praying that Allah Taallah grant our Aqa Maula (TUS) a very long life – ta roze qayamat- Ameen.
Result: Inshallah we have 5 confirm Joras – and another 11 Joras talking and possible.
What Participants had to say:
They loved the whole program , commended the committee for the organization. They were overawed by the whole proceedings :- the beautiful surroundigs, the enchanting decoration especially at mealtimes, and the exuberance, nashaat of Tnc khidmatguzar.
Most said the resort idea was great, they loved it and enjoyed being within close vicinity of each other as there were no host homes to go to and therefore had more time to spend with each other – no travel time.
Abde Syedna tus Dr. Abbas
